Blessed Saint Edward, King and Confessor, inspired by your life we invoke your intercession.
You are seated among the saints of heaven before the throne of God. From there you pray for us and intercede with God on our behalf. Like you, may we be generous in our concern for those in need, stalwart in our defense of the poor, the marginalized, and the forgotten. May we promote the companionship and sanctity of married life. May we inspire leaders who are both strong and compassionate, concerned more for the common good than for personal gain, and may our example restore civility to public discourse. In all these things you set for us an example.

For all these things we pray through your intercession with our Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
