11.25" Guardian Angel Holding Child Bronze Statue

The iconography of the guardian angel, a celestial being divinely appointed to guide and protect individuals, has roots in both Hebraic tradition and early Christian theological thought, famously crystallized in the writings of Saint Jerome and Saint Thomas Aquinas. This depiction draws upon centuries of devotional art, emphasizing the intimate, maternal care of the angelic host as they shepherd souls through the trials of earthly life. By integrating the floral motif—a classical symbol of purity and transient beauty—with the dynamic motion of the winged protector, the work evokes the enduring Renaissance and Baroque traditions of depicting the ethereal bridge between the human and divine realms. Belonging to themes of divine protection, celestial guardianship, and the profound sanctity of childhood, this evocative portrayal serves as a timeless emblem of comfort, watchfulness, and the promise of eternal benevolence.
