St. Maria Goretti Charm

Maria Goretti was born in Italy in 1890. When her father died of malaria, Maria’s mother and siblings worked in the fields while Maria tended to the home. They found happiness in family and faith. But when Maria Goretti was only 11 years old, she was attacked by her neighbor. After pleading more for his soul than her own safety, Maria died from her wounds a day later. Maria's attacker attended her canonization in 1950 and died twenty years later, having prayed to Maria every day.
