12" Advent Taper Candles - 4PC

These 12″ advent Assortment Taper Candles are handcrafted and over dipped in purple and pink. They can be used as a refill for your Advent Candleholder ring. The outer core of this taper is made of an extremely hard shell wax crafted with the highest quality paraffin wax and all cotton wick that prevents the candle from dripping.

Due to the nature of the dipping process involved in making taper candles, base size may vary slightly.

Advent Wreath Ceremony

The liturgical preparation for Advent or Coming of Christ includes the four Sundays before Christmas. A circular fixture is used to support the four candles (three purple and one pink). The first purple candle is lit on the fourth Sunday before Christmas (It can also be burned during the Saturday evening meal the day before). On the following Sunday the first purple candle is re-lit along with another purple candle. On the third Sunday (the Sunday of Advent), the pink candle is lit along with the two previously burned purple candles. The Sunday before Christmas sees the lighting of all four of the candles to celebrate the arrival of Christmas.
